Features

Built around the way Britain actually checks the weather.

Every screen is designed for a glanceable, on-the-go read — using units, dates and language that feel native to the UK.

Right now, at a glance

Current temperature, feels-like, humidity, wind in mph, UV index and pressure — all on one screen, no scrolling required.

Next 24 hours, hourly

Hourly temperature and conditions for the next day, laid out on a horizontal timeline so you can plan the next few hours in seconds.

7-day forecast, day by day

A full week of highs, lows, conditions, sunrise, sunset and UV — laid out for quick comparison, not for a data dump.

UK-first city search

Search any city worldwide; UK places rank first thanks to a geographic-centre bias built into the search.

Multi-city tracking

Add London for home, Edinburgh for family, Bristol for the office — keep several cities side by side, and switch in one tap.

British, by default

Wind in mph, dates in DD/MM, 24-hour clock, English UK throughout. No unit toggles, no surprises.

Locked dark mode

The interface is dark by design and locked to dark mode, so the visual system always feels coherent — no jarring light flips.

Sample-data fallback

If the upstream weather service is rate-limited, you can switch to clearly labelled sample data so the app never feels empty.

On-device only

Your cities live in UserDefaults on your phone. We have no servers, no backend, no account system, and no analytics — so there is nothing to leak.

About

A weather app for people who don't want another weather app.

Petrichor Weather was built for the UK — designed by someone who wanted the temperature in Celsius, the wind in mph, the date in DD/MM, and the experience to stay out of the way.

The name comes from petrichor — the earthy smell that follows rain. It's the moment a British downpour softens and the air feels new. The icon captures that: a single droplet with a sun rising through it.

Everything is rendered locally, locked to dark mode, and built around a single principle: the app should not know more about you than it needs to.
